On your marks… Refugee Action gets ready for the BUPA Great Manchester Run

As Team RA limber up for Sunday’s 10K, here’s Fundraising & Comms Assistant Salma on how you can help support them…

The BUPA Great Manchester Run is this Sunday, and we’ve got 13 wonderful and brave people running to raise much needed money for Refugee Action. Their commitment and sheer determination over the last few months has had all of us in the Fundraising and Communications team in awe.  Most have already beaten their fundraising targets, but are still continuing to raise money.

We’re going to be showing our support to them by being there on Sunday to encourage them through to the finish line. If anyone would like to come and support TEAM RA on Sunday, we’ve got a cheering squad and we’re not afraid to use our lungs. We’re going to be at Portland Place from 10.30am, then we’ll be stationed on the course at the 3km mark on Bridgewater Way and the 8km mark on Chester Road so that’s where we’ll be doing our most shouting and screaming as well as taking photos of the runners.

There will also be a post-race drink at Rain Bar on Great Bridgewater Street for our heroic runners; anyone is welcome so if you’re in Manchester city centre on Sunday between 1-3pm, join us.

It’s not too late to show your support for our runners – you can sponsor them instantly via Justgiving, helping the team to reach their targets and achieve real positive change for refugees.  Finally, two of our runners had injuries so we’d like to wish them a speedy recovery.  Go Team Refugee Action!

If you’d like to run, swim, cycle, roller-skate or do any other sponsored sporting event to raise money for refugees, please contact our fundraising team.
